Tesa has striking, electric blue, pupilless eyes and a bluish tinge to his otherwise tan skin that is always at the edge of one's periphery as they see him. He is tall and slim with a look about him that he might be well-muscled if he were well-fed. He has scraggly brown hair with streaks of bronze.

Tesa can conjure a pair of golden, feathered wings at will, but his ability to fly is limited, as the wings may vanish suddenly. He is extraordinarily gifted at healing, but he lacks control. His power is largely dependent on his emotional state, which can sometimes result in destructive lightning power instead.

Tesa is desperate for peace. He is torn between a longing to trust and the certain knowledge that to trust is to die. Beneath his exterior born of necessity lies a sweet boy who would never hurt a fly — a lost boy whom the person Tesa has been forced to become may someday have the time and space to mourn.

Tesa grew up in hiding. His father, Amil, was a celestial — an air-charged skyfolk whose people strictly forbade relationships with humans, lest they result in a rare hybrid.

This taboo was born of the legend of Garyen lex-Maxa, a hybrid who was said to have destroyed an entire city in a fit of rage with his uncontrollable power.

His mother was Rapha, a human. They loved each other dearly and presumed that their relationship would never result in a child, as Rapha's fettle remained neutral, unshifted. However, their relationship itself ultimately caused Rapha's fettle to shift skyward, and she gave birth to Tesa.

For a long while, they kept Tesa hidden. He learned to trust no one, lest the bad folk come and take his father and mother away. This was, perhaps, inevitable.

Eventually, the celestial enforcers found them and put his parents to death. They did, however, successfully hide Tesa before they came. He hid until they left and then set off to find his mother's family — the place his parents told him to seek if ever they were found.
