The Swamp domain consists in the sunken places of the world, where the water is fetid, brackish, or stagnant — places clogged with rot, choked with vine, and shaded with bough. Swampfolk tend to feel at home in the fens, bogs, bayous, jungles, and tropical rainforests of the world.
Wood-charged magic — or soma — feeds the death and darkness of the Swamp. Wood-charged Swampfolk include kindreds with affinities for the somatic phenomenon of rot, breaking down the old to make way for the new.
Earth-charged magic — or arche — builds up in the depths at the end and the beginning, the bottom of the Swamp. Earth-charged Swampfolk include kindreds with affinities for the archeic phenomenon of metamorphosis and rebirth, time and pressure forming the new from the old.
